What Can I Do If My Application for Asylum Has Been Refused?

Written by: First Precedent & Visa Services Ltd

Introduction

Asylum refusal doesn’t mean your case is over. You still have rights and legal options. In this blog, we explain what to do next and how to strengthen your case.

Read the Decision Carefully

Your refusal letter should explain why UKVI did not accept your claim. Common issues include lack of credibility, insufficient evidence, or doubts about your fear of return.

 Appealing the Refusal

You may have the right to appeal. This must usually be done within 14 days (if inside the UK). It’s important to act quickly and seek legal advice immediately.

Submitting a Fresh Claim

If you gather new evidence after your refusal, you can submit a fresh claim. This should be materially different from the original application and clearly presented.

 How We Help Asylum Seekers

We support clients in reviewing decisions, preparing appeal bundles, and building strong fresh claims—especially for sensitive or vulnerable individuals.

Emotional and Legal Support

We understand the emotional stress of asylum cases. Our team treats every client with compassion, ensuring confidentiality and respect.
